Care Network

Members Caring for Each Other
Our network was formed several years ago to provide connection and support for members of our congregation by staying in touch, acknowledging the joys and concerns of their lives, and providing a loving presence and a helping hand, especially in times of sickness or difficulty. All requests are handled with confidentiality and respect.
"Good For" Lists
We have a group of generous volunteers who are willing, ready and able to help members who may find themselves in need:
We are able to help with medical appointments, meals in emergency situations, phone calls and visits, and cards and treats for special joys and sorrows.
If you would like to join our wonderful volunteers as a helper, please contact Josette at josettepc50@gmail.com.
We have 4 categories to chose from:
1) Emergency meals
2) Transportation
3) Household chores
4) Whatever!
Everyone in our congregation is good for something!
When one of our members is down with an illness or other crisis, their congregation needs to offer support. That is when our members need to know they are not alone. Please ask for help. This is how we care. You are not alone.
Lay Pastoral Ministers
The Lay Pastoral Ministers help weave a fabric of care in our congregation so that none fall between the strands of our network of mutuality. We will eventually learn that it’s okay to ask for help. And that the help is kind and compassionate.
Rev. Joan invited these people into this service because they are natural and professional caregivers. If you, or a church friend, need a little TLC getting through a difficult time of transition, please let one of our lay pastoral care ministers (or Rev. Joan) know.
Bobbie Baker
John Marohn
Karen Jarvis
They each care for several people in the congregation through phone calls and visits. They do not offer therapy, run interference, or manage anyone’s care. The Lay Pastoral Ministers offer an authentic ministry of caring presence.
Joys and Concerns for the Pastoral Prayer
The Community Care Network staffs a table at the back of the sanctuary for anyone who would like to complete a card to have a personal joy or concern included in the pastoral prayer. This Service expands our ways of connecting with each other through the ups and downs of our lives. The cards are available every Sunday; a Community Care Network member at the table provides a personal connection.
