In our Faith in Action Programs we strive to create real hands on experiences for our children and youth where we are making a practical difference in our church, community or world.

On September 9, we will begin by participating in the ingathering water communion with parents in the sanctuary, using the remaining time to learn about clean water. We will have children create a water filter to make muddy water clean, and talk about how important water is to the health and well being of our bodies and the planet.

For families who would like to follow up on this lesson and we have a program for people of all ages in our congregation called Gather the Spirit which we will be running all year. Please come join us and learn with your children and other adults in the UUCB community.

In October we will view the movie “The Story of Stuff” after which we will have a brainstorming session with the kids about how they can make a difference on an environmental, or justice issue raised by the film. We will incorporate as many of these issues into our remaining Faith in Actions session this year as we are able.
